What is a good house? Floorplan of Villa Busk, Sverre Fehn

The main volume of the house has a long, rectangular shape. The functional areas are situated along the massive south-west facade. On the opposite side is the corridor, with a floor-to-ceiling glass facade.

The corridor is open to the functional areas and connects the interior with the landscape outside. As such, it brings light, space and orientation to the house.

This simple floor-plan acts as an inspiration of a different, but brilliant, approach to frame movement and connection between spaces. Looking through books for inspiration, I often stop on this page, re-examining this particular drawing.
